To become a nurse in Indiana, you’ll want to start by finding an accredited nursing degree program. Once you’ve completed your nursing school, you’ll contact the Indiana State Board of Nursing to apply for state licensure.  A basic RN program can be completed through an associates of nursing program (ASN) and takes 2 years to complete.  Nursing Degrees range from an associate all the way to a PhD nursing program, plus a myriad of options in between.

RN to BSN

The RN to BSN program is a great choice for registered nurses who wish to continue their nursing education with the completion of their bachelor’s degree.  A BSN (bachelor of science in nursing) is a fantastic degree option that generally takes 4 to 5 years to complete.  If you have already completed a 2-year ASN degree and hold your RN, your ASN credits can be applied to your BSN program. These types of accelerated nursing programs allow students to complete a bachelors in only 2-3 years, often enabling them to complete their mandatory clinical hours by the time they’ve graduated.  It’s also an excellent choice in nursing degree paths because you can work as a registered nurse after just 2 years of schooling in your ASN program, then continue your work as you continue school.
