RN to BSN Programs in Michigan

To become a registered nurse in Michigan, you’ll need to start by finding an accredited nursing program in the state, and completing your nursing degree.  This can be done several ways.  The quickest way to become an RN is through an associate of science in nursing program (ASN).  This is generally a two year program.  You can also become an RN by entering a 4 year bachelor of science in nursing program.  Once you’ve completed your nursing degree, you’re eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam, which (when passed) qualifies you to begin working as a registered nurse.

While an ASN nursing degree is a quick way to begin working as a nurse, many states now encourage nurses to obtain at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing.  It broadens your skillset, increases your hiring potential, and certainly improves your chances of finding an excellent nursing job.

RN to BSN

RN to BSN programs in Michigan are becoming more and more popular as registered nurses make that decision to go back to school.  For someone with a current RN license, obtaining a bachelor’s degree should be done through a bridge nursing program – also referred to as an accelerated nursing program. In RN to BSN programs, credits from ASN degrees are applied to the bachelors, shortening the duration of the degree program to just 2 to 3 years.

Online RN to BSN degree programs are the BEST option if you plan to continue working as a registered nurse as you continue school.  Through an online nursing degree, you are able to complete written assignments and much of your book work over the internet, making it possible to balance a work schedule as you continue school.  Many students are able to complete most of their mandatory clinical hours as they finish school.
